Stephanie Birdsall , a painter with the Putney Painters, founded by Richard Schmid, spends her time surrounded by color. Her workshop, sometimes referred to as “Bootcamp” concentrates on clean color, seeing it, mixing it and putting it in your canvas. Brushstrokes , values and shapes are all part of it. The beauty of flowers is created by controlling what goes on your brush and where you put it. And composition will be an important element.
All levels are welcome. Her color theory is based on Richard Schmid’s color charts which can be found in his book,”Alla Prima”. If you’ve done these charts, it will be helpful but not a requirement.
Stephanie’s workshops are high energy, knowledge packed workshop experiences. Great for fine tuning, just getting started or moving up a level!
Some flowers will be provided but is you have something you want to bring in either floral or still life, please bring it.
